Who has been to Birmingham, AL/is a student at UAB?
I am considering UAB because its arts program seems decent, but a big factor is the city itself. I need to live somewhere with a great culture, like art museums, involved community etc. I am also vegetarian and need to have good options, and I am young and know no one there so I’d like a lot of social outlets and nightlife, such as good music venues, bars and cafes. Decent shopping doesn’t hurt either (: I have done a little research and have heard good things about the Southside. Is it an expensive city to live in? Please tell me everything! I’m visiting soon but I’m curious!
I live and work in Birmingham. There are art museums and attractions, you’ll have to check out Vulcan while you’re here. Lots of cuisine…yes, Southside has a great night life. There’s a martini lounge on Southside in 5 Points called “Blue Monkey,” which is very nice. Birmingham has everything you’ve just listed. I think you’ll have a blast.
