Music Key Signatures

I have my music gcse next week and I still dont know the major and minor key signatures . I need an easy way !?
can you explain it as simply as possible …. Im not very good … Thanks in advance for any help …
starting with c go up four notes to f (one flat), then up another4 to b flat (2 flats) and so on. for sharps, start at c and go up every 5 notes(g – 1sharp, d – 2 sharps, )etc.
